Founded in 2011 Broadway Jiu-Jitsu quickly established itself as the premier location for Boston’s top grapplers. Under the guidance of the area’s most experienced instructors Broadway Jiu-Jitsu’s competition teams have medaled in the most prestigious Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Wrestling tournaments in the world. Our Muay Thai team continues to have success both locally and nationally and our MMA team has been victorious on both the regional circuit and the UFC. Competitors and hobbyists alike adorn the mats at Broadway Jiu-Jitsu. Come in for a free class, you won’t regret it.
This gym changed my life in terms of actually enjoying fitness again. I joined in 2012 with no prior experience in Muay Thai or any MMA whatsoever. Before Broadway Jiu-Jitsu, I was stuck in a dreadful boring routine of going to a "regular" gym to run on the tread mill and lift weights. I tried a Muay Thai class on a whim and loved every second of it. I no longer dreaded going to work out, now I found myself looking forward to each Muay Thai class. Each class is mentally and physically challenging with great instructors and you will leave feeling relaxed after a stressful day. This gym has a great feel where everyone is friendly and the ownership is always present. If you need to change up your routine, I highly recommend coming in for a trial class, you will not be disappointed.
Professor JC has created an awesome training environment for the team. As an experienced BJJ black belt and MMA fighter, he teaches with great detail and patience. The Broadway family welcomed me when I moved to Boston and now I have great friends. You won't regret joining the Broadway family.
Every BJJ school has it's own style. The Bulldogs at Broadway have made "tough-as-nails" a style without compromising respect or humility. There is a genuine value for the learning environment made apparent through leadership that listens, leads by example and pushes you to be your best, especially when you may be feeling your worst.
“Tired is not in injury” is something you’ll hear often in this windowless dojo, which compliments their mantra to “keep it painful”. It’s a school were there is no choice but to play the best game that you have and as a result you will be better than you were the day before.
Make no mistake- you can expect to get a little banged up in here! But this is Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, so it's par for the course. That said, the instructors here are excellent. They are patient, communicative, and positive. They also take notice of the students who are putting in the effort. This is also one of the few academies that has white belt classes. Best place in Boston to learn Jiu-Jitsu.
