Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art, combat sport, and a self defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. The art was derived from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan judo in the early 20th century.

MUAY THAI

Muay thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to “two points” (fists) as in boxing classes and classic western boxing training or “four points” (hands and feet) used in other more regulated combat sports, such as kickboxing, boxing, and savate.

JUDO

Judo is a modern martial art, combat and Olympic sport created in Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano. Its most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the object is to either throw or takedown an opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue an opponent with a grappling maneuver, or force an opponent to submit by joint locking or by executing a strangle hold or choke. Strikes and thrusts by hands and feet as well as weapons defenses are a part of judo, but only in pre-arranged forms (kata) and are not allowed in judo competition or free practice (randori).

REAL PEOPLE REAL RESULTS

  • The greatest team ever! the best tutors / best gym

    Falko Kühnel
  • Professor JC has created an awesome training environment for the team. As an experienced BJJ black belt and MMA fighter, he teaches with great detail and patience. The Broadway family welcomed me when I moved to Boston and now I have great friends. You won't regret joining the Broadway family

    Michael Hung
  • This gym changed my life in terms of actually enjoying fitness again. I joined in 2012 with no prior experience in Muay Thai or any MMA whatsoever. Before Broadway Jiu-Jitsu, I was stuck in a dreadful boring routine of going to a "regular" gym to run on the tread mill and lift weights. I tried a Muay Thai class on a whim and loved every second of it. I no longer dreaded going to work out, now I found myself looking forward to each Muay Thai class. Each class is mentally and physically challenging with great instructors and you will leave feeling relaxed after a stressful day. This gym has a great feel where everyone is friendly and the ownership is always present. If you need to change up your routine, I highly recommend coming in for a trial class, you will not be disappointed.

MMA

MMA is an opportunity to mix the Martial Arts we already know so little time is spent on teaching new techniques and more time is spent tweaking already existing techniques so that they are effective for MMA.
